COROT NOIR ( NY70.0809.10) Hybrid Wine Red Red Wine Zone 4
(SV 18-307 x Steuben)" formerly NY70.0809.10, named in July 2006. Produces a wine with a deep red color and pronounced cherry and berry fruit aromas. The wine has big soft tannins with a structure that is complete from the front of the mouth to the back. This grape is either suitable for blending or a varietal wine. The vine is vigorous and very productive at Geneva. Some cluster thinning is usually required to avoid overcropping. Vines are healthy with good powdery mildew and Botrytis rot resistance and often maintain green leaves up until frost. Fruit maturity is late, with harvest Oct. 15-20 in Geneva. Predicted temperature of 50% primary bud kill in mid winter = -15.1 F When you purchase this variety you will be required to sign a Grower's License Agreement with Cornell University which will be sent with the invoice.*Patented cultivar from the Cornell Breeding Program- Royalty will be added to order as follows: $0.85 for NYS customers, $1.05 for out of state customers.
